In a short space of time, the pair teamed up with David Wood (CEO) and newly appointed executives and grew the business to employ more than 300 former police and military security professionals, as well as many other talented people. Their efforts paved the way for a hugely successful business that is now branching into all types of security and risk management.
Following the tragic loss of Chris, we wanted to honour his memory by giving back to a worthwhile cause we felt would be close to his heart. That’s why we set up a fundraising initiative to support a charity of our choosing.
After narrowing it down to three charities, our staff took a vote. It is perhaps unsurprising that the undisputed winner was The Police Children’s Charity, which aims to support police families by helping ease the financial pressures of bringing up children in the face of life-changing circumstances.
The police put their lives on the line every day to keep communities safe and crime free. In fact, a police officer in the UK is assaulted every 27 minutes. And while no amount of money can replace a parent, support from the charity can provide a degree of financial certainty in difficult times.
As a thank you to all of Chris’ hard work during his life, our staff will be undertaking sponsored events to help raise funds for The Police Children’s Charity, and any funds they do raise will be matched by us to maximise our contribution.
Nevertheless, we understand that there are thousands of charities across the UK in need of vital funding, so we are planning to set up further fundraising initiatives to support worthy causes in any way we can.
